Feeling on the Cusp of Greatness!

Okay, maybe not, but it feels like accomplishment to me. I've been pretty down because I can't do all that I'm accustomed to doing. I can't even clean house like I normally would. However, I took a few moments when I felt a little less "off" and worked on my kitchen. It may not seem like much, but to me, it was awesome getting my kitchen to feel like a warm and welcoming place again. I even put on some pinto beans in the crock pot the next day.

Warm feeling of home with the scent of eggnog candle stuff, hot coffee, and well...I just like our kitchen.

  • Tonight was yumminess with crockpot pinto beans, a hint of shredded cheese, some meat and red peppers with a bit of picante sauce.
  • More hot and yummy coffee. I've cut my coffee consumption down a lot in the last two weeks.
  • I like listening to my honey in playing a game.

Overwhelmed....

But "Just keep swimming, just keep swimming." There's a light at the end of the tunnel; it's just a long tunnel. We have a lot of images today.  I've been quiet. so they've built up a little, you see.  :) My list of reasons and things that have kept me smiling:

1.)  I received 2 more gifts from some gals in the Sickies Swaps. I'm loooving this. And I feel a bit better about the fact that I can in some cases only send cards or hand sketched envelopes with letters. The first one has been an amazing lady and I have no idea how she keeps up. The second...Beads! Seashells, copper wire, findings. Happiness in a bag.

2.) Our baby girl. I love Zoey so much.  She's too cute not to photograph every chance I can. "Daddy" was gone for only moments and she had to take over.

3.) Both our girls! Zoey and Sigrid are equally awesome, snuggled on my pillow on the bed keeping each other presentable.

4.) This is my sweetheart. He's usually my number one reason to smile. His other best bud was in town this weekend so he took us out to a place we'd never been, Elephant Bar. It was fun, and great company. I do think my guy is handsome, and he never lets me take his photo!

5.) For now, I have a home. Our home has a balcony overlook to...a Tennis court. However, it's pretty when it rains and the lights shine on it. It was relaxing to stand out there and listen to the rain with my sweetheart.

Going to Miss Alphas

We spent the evening finishing out Season 2 of Alphas. I'm very sad to see there won't be a season 3. The shows I love most seem to get canceled early, and then things like Desperate Housewives last forever. My favorite characters were Gary and Rachel. My man does an awesome Gary impression.

This is what I was doing during the show:

I made a blanket for my niece that was a granny style. This one is for me. I'm a lot slower at working on this one and I'm using scrap yarn from various projects. Most of it is I Love This Yarn and Redheart.

Sunshiney

Not my mood as much as I wish, but I did see my first sunrise in a long time. I missed the most beautiful part of it. The girls kept wanting to come out onto the balcony with us.  I've been a grump and not wanting to be a grump to such a great guy.  The girls are even now being adorable.

I also have been heavily fatigued and in so much pain today. I managed to get dressed. That took all I had.  My arms won't lift much today.  Beads are a sloooooow process.  I did, however, force myself to go outside and walk along the sidewalk this evening while I handled some important phone calls. Wore me out the rest of the way, but I love how our sky looks here. :) Colorado is splendid.

Devoted

Following this book about daily devotions of sorts, today's entry was to find something today to describe that either felt like new or reminded me of something old to be thankful of that I might have stopped thinking about.

"I sat in the car a moment and just closed my eyes. I listened to my music. I haven’t been listening to my music of late. Music warms my soul and keeps me going, and yet I’ve neglected that part of me. I learned long ago I couldn’t be with someone for whom music wasn’t important, or who didn’t have enough musical tastes in common.

Today’s first selection was my favorite, NIN. The song isn’t even important this time. It was simply the feeling of listening to it, feeling the bass in my body and knowing its touch without something tinged in pain. For a brief moment, it stole away some of my exhaustion and reminded me of what it feels like to hold energy in my limbs and heart. It felt great. This was followed by Depeche Mode, and then Kerli’s “Walking on Air.” If that doesn’t pick up the soul, I don’t know what would. So while the idea was to think of something old or new that moves me, this is what happened naturally.

Music is life.

Let music fill you with life.

My favorite socks EVER. I'm making something for Trisha as well. Hope she likes it.

I will remake this character or something similar once I'm play real Torchlight 2

Lovely Sigrid who always takes over Daddy's chair the moment he leaves it.

Accomplished

Well maybe not a lot. I did walk to the mailbox, however. I got out of the house. It was only a 12 minute walk and half a mile, but it was movement. I took random photos along the way and did pause once to watch a squirrel. Yes, that's a fire hydrant. Don't ask. I mostly enjoy playing around with filters and photos.

This was a gift from a swap buddy in Sickies Swaps :)

Keeping on..

Today we bring you....Cats! There are always a lot of cat photos around here that make us quite happy. Anyone know a good free video editing software though? I want to add music to a video I have of Sigrid and I want to remove some sections of the video.

"In Repose"

Yes, here are some pretty baby cats. I didn't feel well so was doing this Vicks treatment thing. The girls climbed onto me and went to sleep.  In the one on the right, Zoey was knackered out because I had the heat pad on my knee...and she had it under her toosh.

Here we have a Zoey looking cute, a Sigrid trying to behave, then a Sigrid curled up like an angel and a Zoey making herself at home with a long stretch while I worked on beads.

Yesterday we hung out at Sarah's which was really nice. Had some BBQ food and chatted a fair bit.  I've decided, all of my friends need AC though. :P  No one has AC; just us.
Today might also be the day for more than one cup of coffee. It's raining again.
